trying to be perfect in this fake world

in the news right now

Hello everyone. I've never posted here before but just learned of something I'd like to share...and rant about.

Anyone hear of how the US soldiers had some good ol' fun throwing the Holy Quran around in front of prisoners suspected of being AL-Qaeda members? I’m sickened, absolutely appalled. Condoleeza Rice decides to formally apologize to all the Muslims in the US and around the world.

...excuse me, please, while I throw up.

How dare anyone even think this is what they should do? WHAT the hell did those morons hope to accomplish by doing this? This is yet another indication of why the Muslim world is distrustful of the west, because incidents like this happen. *cough Abu Ghraib cough*

The fact of the matter is this: if these people do not have respect for the Quran it means plain and simple they have zero respect for Muslims. If these people are the representation of America, they’re doing a pretty crappy job, I’d say.

EDIT: It's been pointed out to me that actually they're doing a good job... they are showing their true colors by doing so...

There are protests all over the mid-east, all the way to Afghanistan over this. The Saudi government has come out with a statement saying they are “following this with deep indignation.”

This should make every Muslim saddened and upset.

I seriously have been staring at this for 10 minutes and I have absolutely no words to express how sickening this is.
Read this, taken from

"Meanwhile in Washington, the chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff said an investigation has so far turned up no evidence of U.S. interrogators at Guantanamo Bay desecrating the Muslim holy book, the Quran.

Reports of the alleged desecration have sparked public outrage in Muslim countries in addition to the violent demonstrations in Afghanistan.

Newsweek magazine, in its latest edition, quoted sources as saying that investigators probing abuses at the military prison had found that interrogators "had placed Qurans on toilets, and in at least one case flushed a holy book down the toilet."

... but what more are we to expect from these people... this is supposed to be OUR country also... and look at how we are treated...

If these people are the representation of America, they’re doing a pretty crappy job

actually they're doing a good job... they are showing their true colors...
Y'know, you are absolutely correct. I'll edit the post with what you said.
Indeed, if a copy of the Qur'an was desecrated by military interrogators as indicated and rumoured, it would be an inexcusable act. Lets hope the investigation uncovers the truth and those responsible are reprimanded. Sadly, this kind of behaviour ad infinitumgoes on everywhere but atleast in America news gets out and some accountable will be judged, as in the Abu Ghraib case.
umm... i stumbled upon this article and while i am quite late, i owudl like to add in my two cents if no one would mind...

good, no one does, in that case i have a question to ask

During one of the wars in Israel, a group of muslim gunmen captured a church in Jeruslam and used the bible as toilet paper and other such thing that most definetly desicarted it, and guess what, no one said anything. the Israelis wuoldnt attack the church in fear of destorying it, yet a group of muslims were able to get away with that... what im wondering, is why are muslims aloud to desicrate jewish and christian holy books, but as soon as anything happens to the quran, everyone goes berserk?
Actually Muslims aren't allowed to do that. At least no one here is painting the entire Christain or Jewish faith as intolerant and hateful people for the actions of those few mindless at Gutmo. Just as Christians and other leaders have condemned these heinous acts, so would Muslims leaders have done if the story you narrated had actually been reported.

This is really not just about Muslims being outraged- any person who respects the concept of scripture should be as well, b/c we're all still bound to the same Creator. Good day.
Honestly, I've heard so many people bring this kind of question up and I have to say that if I or any other respecting Muslim had heard of this we would have condemned this.We have great respect for the Bible and the Torah because it is still the word of God.

I hate that people think of Muslims as selfishly into themselves because we aren't. But when something like this happens to our holiest book and every person around me shrugs it off, I've got every right to be angry because I wouldn't do the same were the roles reversed.

Sorry, this is a super late reply
they make me so angry!!! ohmg!!
